A No Excuses II Review (part 1)

First, I want to thank everyone who reads this blog, I truly appreciate every one of you. As many of you know, I attended the “No Excuses Summit II” in Las Vegas. I promised many of you that I would share my thoughts about each speaker. I begin that series today with the first speaker at No Excuses, RAY HIGDON. He was asked to speak on the mix of “belly-to-belly” (old-school marketing) vs. internet marketing. Ray is very adept at both. Choosing Ray as the first speaker was a great choice, one year ago he was sitting in the audience at the first No Excuses on his way out of financial devastation. Two years ago he was in personal bankruptcy and going through foreclosure. As he puts it he was in “a financial and mental coma”.

emptypocket Get Out Of Your MLM Coma: A No Excuses II ReviewMany of us have been in our own “financial coma” at some point in our lives, unsure where to go next or exactly what to do. The roads all seem to jumble together until you want to curl up in a ball and just forget everything.

That changed for Ray when he came home from a trip and realized he only had $300 in the bank. As he looked at that he thought “I’m not a $300 in the bank account kinda guy.” And he decided it was time to do something about it. A choice we all make before success can come into our lives.

evilcellphone Get Out Of Your MLM Coma: A No Excuses II ReviewOf the two styles of marketing; Internet Marketing has been used by many as a crutch for those who are fearful of talking to people directly so they build capture pages and drive traffic to their capture page, hoping people will just sign up. Ray tells us,“you need to remember every single person who joins anything online is the warm market of someone, and they’d rather join someone they know, like, and trust.

If you decide to just sit back and hope for leads to magically appear through the internet you’re going to be sadly disappointed.
People want to talk to someone. If they’ve left their phone number then they want to talk to YOU. Over and over again people lose leads that wanted to join them simply because they couldn’t be bothered to pick up the phone or afraid to pick up the phone. If you don’t call, you won’t sign them up. Don’t expect your funnel to do all the work for you.

When you do call them make sure you qualify them. Make sure they’re actually open-minded enough to qualify for your time. Don’t ever chase, beg, or bug anyone. Even if you get them to join, they will not do what is needed to succeed.

Our job is really two things:

1. Present information.

2. Provide options.

changedice Get Out Of Your MLM Coma: A No Excuses II ReviewThat’s all network marketing is really about. No one wants to get in on the ground floor, start a new opportunity, or sell products. They’re looking for a way to change their life, a way to make their dreams come true. Network Marketing isn’t about the products, no matter how good they are, it’s about a better way to succeed.

We’ve all seen what’s happening in corporate America. People are working harder than they ever have to make less than they’ve ever made, and they don’t complain! They do it because their boss knows that waiting behind them are a hundred other people who would gladly take the position and work weekends as well. We can help these people, give them options where they haven’t had any.
Presenting the information can be a little intimidating, especially when you’re contacting someone who you see as better off than you are. An easy way to do this is with a single sentence.

Would you be open to a side project that wouldn’t interfere with what you’re already doing?

If someone says “no”,,, who cares? Repeat that. WHO CARES?

There are a billion other people on this planet looking for what you have to offer. You just have to talk to them.

Sometimes you’ll get a question like: “What’s this all about?”

Just respond: “It’s about me interviewing you to see if you’re a fit for my team and my time.”

If they bring an attitude bring it right back. If they’re really interested they’ll let you know. They may not even be a fit for your team. In that case just tell them you don’t think this is right for them. Just like an employer knows there’s many more applicants waiting to fill a job position there are even more people out there that are looking to join an opportunity like yours.

timefreedom Get Out Of Your MLM Coma: A No Excuses II ReviewI know for me getting into network marketing had nothing to do with money. I was one of the lucky few, already making over a quarter of a million dollars a year in a job that I loved. I wanted time freedom with my family. I passed on many network marketing opportunities because people only focused on money when talking to me. It wasn’t until someone cared enough to find out what was important to me that I finally listened. Everyone wants something different and until we listen we will never know what that something is. We will never find it in a capture page or funnel.

Everyone is so focused on what they want or what they think the prospect wants that we don’t really listen. Some people are interested in the money, some want freedom, some just want to have their own business, or it just might be wanting to feel on equal footing with other people. Maybe just learning to talk face to face or on the phone to someone is all someone desires. That’s it. Nothing more. To be able to look someone in the eye and have the confidence of knowing you can communicate your ideas, no matter if you’re speaking with a pauper or a millionaire.

In everything Ray spoke about this hit me the hardest: You have to structure what you want in order to get it. All of us have something in our lives that we want to change. We wouldn’t be doing this if we didn’t. But just as some may have a plan for learning to speak with people and building their confidence, it is absolutely vital that you have a plan too.

Know what you want. Have a plan in place to get it, and follow the plan.

hardwork Get Out Of Your MLM Coma: A No Excuses II ReviewNow there will come a point where you are successful and you will have people tell you, “Oh, it was easy for you.” People see others who are successful as lucky, or an overnight success, but they’re not. Being successful is going to conferences, being present for meetings. It is working your butt off to get what you want! Discipline trumps talent every single time. Your discipline will build your business. This isn’t about wishing and hoping, it’s about hustling.

Dream, and dream big. Tell everyone your dream, make it a part of your life. Never react if others can’t see your dream. They are not the ones that will help you attain that dream. Be with the people that support your dreams, for they are your true family.

Shoot for the stars. Set those goals then go out and work. And if it’s possible to inspire just one person to shoot for their dreams, to try doing what they never thought possible, then my life has not been in vain.

We all have stories. So many of which aren’t being told. Tell your story. Focus on helping others reach their goals and change their lives, and everything else will fall into place.

Next time we will be discussing The VALUE FACTOR from the second speaker at No Excuses Summit II; Mike Klingler. Click Here to read the next post.

Susan Sly’s Life and Business Can Give You A Kick In The TeethSusan Sly No excuses Photo 4 300x200 Susan Slys Life and Business Can Give You A Kick In The Teeth

Let’s imagine the worst possible personal scenario:

1) Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis,
2) Found your spouse cheating with your best friend,
3) Lost your business and went completely broke,
4) Lost everything and had to start sleeping on your brother-in-laws couch.

Sound like a plot in a movie. This really happened to Susan Sly and in less than 4 months. But she refused to be the victim. 3 ½ years later she had built a multimillion dollar business. If you’re going to be a victim you can’t win the game.

Life’s too short to carry around animosity. If you lost everything you had tomorrow, who would you be? Would you even know? So many of us define ourselves by our jobs, our businesses, and/or our families. Stop defining yourself externally and learn to see the greatness in yourself. Forget about an ordinary life, your life can be extraordinary.
Leaders attract leaders. Trying to be perfect is exhausting and others will sense that desperation within you and not want to work with you.

You need to be a HIT leader.

HIT: Humility, Integrity, Tenacity.
Humility – Be able to say I screwed up. I need to do a course correct.
Integrity – Honesty, transparency, doing what you say you will.
Tenacity – Actually doing it, and never stopping

Work with integrity and your values, and learn to take action with them.

The following are 5 steps to reaching your inner greatness.

1. Figure out what YOUR values are.

2. Pursue your passion – Apathy is one of the enemies of network marketing.

P – Prospecting
E – Enrolling
T – Training

3. Take 100% responsibility. – People refuse to take responsibility. What is in your bank account is no one’s responsibility but yours. It’s time to stop the blame game. You have to own the bad with the good. You have to own your life. You can be a victim or you can choose to be a victor, but you can’t be both. The number one problem is that you have gifts and talents but aren’t organized enough to become a millionaire.

4. Out habit your competition – You need to prospect for new business. That means discipline. The root of discipline means to be a disciple of. You must be a disciple of something. Why do you think so many people are coming to this industry? They’re scared, they want freedom, lifestyle, etc. We’re in competition not just with network marketers but with the lies being fed in corporate America. You’re selling the lifestyle.

5. Know your terrain – You’ve got to know your market, customer, language and culture of industry, history of industry, and product, or people won’t work with you. Know your terrain whatever it might be.

You don’t know what you are capable of. You could lead an amazing life but some of you are still playing in the Little League. To play with the professionals and to get to the next level, ask yourself bigger questions. Whatever amount of money you want to make, do people get that amount of value from just being in your presence?

Create an exceptional experience. If you want to be a millionaire give million dollars service.

Pour greatness into others. Let every man or woman be better just for being in your presence. Genuinely, authentically compliment others. There are so many problems in the world that so many of us want to solve, but you have to get wealthy so yotumblr ll86sbuimw1qze0goo1 500 300x300 Susan Slys Life and Business Can Give You A Kick In The Teethu can solve problems important to you.

What goes down eventually comes up. You may have some challenges. Don’t think you’re dwelling there. You are just passing through. You focus on what you are going to do not what you’re going through. If people are criticizing and condemning, you know that it is only making you stronger.

Create a plan. Do not start the day before you end the day. Always plan your next day before you go to bed. Always finish the plan for that day before you make the plan for tomorrow. Never fail on this point and you will never fail.

All distractions are equal. Where your focus goes your energy flows. You can’t ride two horses.

Lastly take time every day for gratitude. Gratitude is your latitude. If you write down 10 things you’re grateful for every single day your income will double in 365 days. If you don’t believe me, prove me wrong. It will cost you nothing and may lead you to freedom.

Next time we’ll talk about dynamic prospecting with David Wood. Learn how to overcome some of the most common objections, and get people to join your company.

A glass of water in the face; “What was that for”Pattern Interrupt; the fastest way to change the direction of a prospect.

There are abrupt pattern interrupts, like what Tony Robbins has used and there are more subtle pattern interrupts, like having a background of a paradise behind you on a video. David Wood is a master of both. When he appeared on stage at the No Excuses event, he had his fly down. He did this to change the direction of the audience. Mike Dillard had spoken before and had everybody in a doom and gloom mood. David needed to turn the audience around to a more positive perspective.

vandownbyriver 300x123 David Wood Throws A Glass Of Water In Your FaceTwo years ago David Wood was living in an old Dodge van, getting parking and vagrancy tickets from the police, and hoping drug dealers didn’t realize he was watching their deals go down. The last straw came when a cop wrote him a ticket for his last 35 dollars. He rolled over, looked at his wife and said “Something’s got to change.” So he joined Amway and became rich. No, actually he didn’t. He struggled, he changed companies, he talked to anybody who would listen. Pretty much what most of us have done if we’ve been in the business very long. He got on craigslist and began grinding it. He was getting some results but it was painfully slow. He knew there was a better way. He ran across a video on YouTube and 90 days later had his first $25,000 week.

It’s easy to make money when you know how to make money. You just have to know how to get people to do things and structure a logical process to get them to buy what you’re selling.

1. There has to be some lead component. You can go around getting leads at Wal-mart or you can set up a system where you get leads with very little effort.

2. Process – if you don’t have a process or it sucks it doesn’t matter if you get leads. Your process must move someone through the stages of buying. If you don’t control this process or you’re not good at it, people don’t join your business.
When those leads show up CALL THEM.

Say: “Frank, I just noticed you were on my website. I just wanted to give you a call, let you know I’m a real person. How are you doing?”
“What can I do for you?”

Listen to them. Listen for what they need or want. Look for a core need. People won’t tell you that need unless you’re connecting with them. A need is something they talk about emotionally. The second you know what that base need is act like they’re already on your teamand tell them what they need to do; it always involves buying something.
This must be your dialogue to the prospect:

“Are you in front of your computer right now? Are you serious about making an extra $2500 a month? Well here’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to sign you up and get you started on the steps to making that each month.”

Tell them what to do (specific steps) and have them call you back. When they call back, make sure they completed the assignment, re-identify the core need and then show them your core company presentation. Have them watch it right then and call you back when they’re done.

Once they call back its time to enroll them but you have to tell them they’re joining in a non-direct way.

“What did you like best about what you saw in that presentation? Tell me more specifically what it is that you liked about that.”

Write down the connection between what they liked and their base need.

“Here’s my inner circle, you’re going to join this, I’ll enroll you in a moment and then we’ll work together to get a gameplan to create that $2500 a month. Sound fair?”

They say yes.

“Go to this website (your website) tell me when it loads and by the way how is your wife doing? See the page? See that Join now button on top. Go ahead and click that button now.”

The prospect will click the button.

“Go ahead and scroll down to the bottom of the page, there’s a button that says agree. It’s terms and conditions, you can read it later go ahead and click that button now. Are you a guy who can talk while filling things out?” Yes. “Tell me a little more about your kids.”

Continually keep bonding with your prospect.

Most people need to be specifically directed to do something or they won’t take action. Continue telling them what to do until they quit, do something else, succeed massively, become the #1 recruiter, or die.

Money doesn’t mean anything. If you’re emotionally tied to money, life sucks. The only way for you to get money is to have someone give it to you. So the question becomes how can I get lots of people to give me money all the time where they just keep giving it to me? You can sell stuff or do a service. To sell stuff without talking to people you need to learn to influence others through Copy Writing skills…confusing tech language 300x155 David Wood Throws A Glass Of Water In Your Face

Language patterns can be inserted into your presentations that influence people and make them more receptive. Whether you do so consciously or subconsciously it is these language patterns that sell every time.

1. In presentations you want people to be in a trance. We get into a trance several times a day. There are 2 types of language, ambiguous and specific. Ambiguity in language induces trance, specific language pulls people out of trance. Facts without stories and metaphors and allegories don’t stick with people.

2. Imbed a call to action throughout the presentation. Put imbedded commands in your language. For some people this comes naturally but most have to learn this technique. One of the ways you can do this is get several courses, listening to them all the time. Also listen when anyone is trying to sell you stuff. Listen how they talk, what they say, the exact words they use and how they use them. Pay attention and you’ll start picking up the language patterns. Learn the language and you’ll learn how to talk to people, and those people will see you as someone they want to do business with because they will instantly like you.

Next time we will talk about the 4 most important videos you can have for marketing online with Didi Alcheva and Glenn Arcaro.

The Multiplier Effect of Network Marketing Events

networking The Multiplier Effect of Network Marketing EventsThe Multiplier Effect of Network Marketing Events

Most of the time that you hear about events it is because of who is speaking at it or how important that it is to hear whoever because their stuff will make you business grow 10 fold or whatever.

Not to discount the power of a great speaker or many that will give you ideas on how to grow bigger, faster, or better, but what is equally as important about is the networking and prospecting leverage that events can have on you, your team, and your business.

partner1 The Multiplier Effect of Network Marketing EventsAlliances are built at events.

Cooperative projects and joint ventures spawn from events.

New businesses are created and additional incomes can be created from events.

And yes, you can get prospects to bring into your business at or because of events.

There are more than a few examples of what happens when people meet at events and become friends and create partnerships.

1. The Stories

Get a roomful of Network Marketers together and you will hear a different story from each one on their success, failures, why they joined, and what keeps them going.  Hearing these stories gets you inside the head of your prospects. Because at one time every marketer you meet was a prospect. When connecting with marketers at events find out what their reason for joining their MLM was. Those stories are PRICELESS.

2. Joint Ventures and Startups

partnerpieces 300x161 The Multiplier Effect of Network Marketing Events

CarbonCopyPro and MLSP are just two examples of what can be created from a couple people connecting at an event and sharing the same mindset and then going on to create a business from some ideas they come up with. Or a few people seeing a common problem with marketing, leads, closing, or whatever; coming up with a business to help people solve that issue or perhaps a series of tools that help them do it better.

3. Prospecting

Then there is the prospecting leverage, not from the participants attending the event (although by maintaining relationships with the Networkers you meet, they just might end up joining you if something changes for them later).  The prospecting is in finding people that you can talk to, meet up with, or network while you are staying in a hotel who aren’t even attending the event.

meet The Multiplier Effect of Network Marketing EventsImagine being in, Vegas and prior to the event you network on Facebook, find people on craigslist, or tweet some local Vegas people to meet up and talk to. Leveraging the event to people NOT attending, inviting your team (and maybe some upline leaders) to meet with the Non-event people with you, or inviting the non-event people to a breakout session as your guest (if you are allowed to) and introducing them to masterminds and millionaires.

How hard would it be to close people on a business when they get to meet who you associate with and see your team? When you have the social proof of THOUSANDS of other marketers in town for an event prospecting in a new city is not hard at all. In fact you would probably wouldn’t have to say much more to have them begging you to allow them to join your team.

Now that is prospecting and that is the best leverage you can get from an event.

Each reason to go, besides just the speakers, multiplies what you take away from the event and what you create because of the event.
Hence the multiplier effect of events.

followup The Multiplier Effect of Network Marketing EventsNetworking Event Tip: When connecting with other Networkers at an event get their business card and info. Don’t just hand over yours.  The follow up with every single person you meet within 2-3 days.  And maintain the contact.  You never know when you might need them for something, and if they ever need anything that you could help them with they’re going to remember you as a master Networker and connector for initiating and maintaining that contact.

Event Bonus: You learn about COOL STUFF. I hated how weak Google Analytics was for tracking my websites. I recently learned about a more accurate tool (right down to how many views per hour and what operating system your audience is using to view your sites) Click Here to use it for your domain.
