Norbert Orlewicz was born in Poland. His family escaped just before martial law was instituted. When they immigrated to America his dad only had $100 and didn’t know the language. Norbert learned at a very young age about taking risks, being brave, and doing things others think are crazy.

For 6 years in MLM he struggled and failed. His best month was $160. In 2007 he was at the lowest point of his life. In 7 months he had made only $2000. He had a brand new baby and was near broke. Instead of backing off and going to find a job, he and his wife took all of their savings and invested it in their next business opportunity.

In their first 12 months they made over $2.2 million dollars in revenue. When you can’t fail, you find a way to succeed. They were at the point where they couldn’t afford to fail. Since then they have been helping others succeed through MLSP.

With MLSP their focus has always been on producing leaders.

What are the 5 common things they teach leaders to do?

1. Email auto-responder – Get your OWN auto-responder. Many company sites have an email auto-responder built into them, but you need to have your own. You need the freedom that comes with having your own auto-responder. Leaders do not rely on someone else’s system, website, or email. If a system goes down it could cost you thousands of dollars. If you don’t have your own system then you are relying on someone else to tell you what you can or cannot say or do with your list. You need to own it.

3. Social media presence – Social Media allows you to make friends with people you haven’t met in real life.

4. Valuable pre-sell or opt-in offer – You must have a way to capture leads.

5. Create original content – Make sure you’re consistent. Decide how often you want to do this and stick to it.

The problem with this is it is not EASY. Everyone can do these things, but it’s not easy and it’s not quick. The internet is killing most network marketers businesses. A lot of network marketers are coming online and they are getting overwhelmed by all of the information out there. (see last week’s lesson)

Only two things are needed to be successful; Leads and Profits. Wow, don’t you feel better already, only two things to be successful. Doesn’t that take a load off and what’s really cool is that there are only “4 Pillars” required to attain leads and profits.

Value

We get paid for bringing value to the marketplace. This is the foundation of your business.

Build your value, authentically. The first step is education. Devour everything you can, become a student. You already know a lot, you just need to own that. Understand what you bring to the table and apply what you learn.

Education + Experience = Value

Your value will sell your brand but it must be true to who you are. It can’t be faked. Your brand must instill trust, confidence, and authority with your presence online.

Get your name out there; whatever it takes. Put up signs at busy intersections, put ads on your car, put an ad in the paper, and just talk to people. It takes time but eventually you will have people following you. There’s so many ways and people come up with new ones every day. So instead of asking how, instead ask: Which lead generation strategy should I focus on.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money. Make a decision and do it. Change your question and it changes your entire presence.

Relationships

People do business with people they know, like, and trust. Start building those relationships. Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Skype, etc. All of these sites allow you to build relationships with people online.

Return on Investment

We all want to be business owners, so be a business owner. How can you maximize the amount of money you’re bringing in for your efforts? If what you are doing isn’t bringing in maximum profits, then do something different. And if it isn’t making you money, Stop Doing It. If you only have one income stream to offer people you’re leaving thousands of dollars on the table. Make sure you have multiple ways of making money and if one dries up it won’t be such a big deal, like getting Google slapped. Just don’t try to start them all at the same time. Get one profitable, then start another, then another.

If you’ve been making videos for a while and you get someone on the phone that has seen you, they are amazed that you called them; at that point the sale is made for you. The masters of the video medium are Didi Alcheva and Glenn Arcaro. They have used video to reach Super Star status and massive success.

The result has been awesome monetization and the opportunity to speak at different events across the nation.

There are 4 videos you must use to create a stepping stone to your stardom and success:

1. How to video

These videos are educational. This type of video cements your status as an authority figure in a particular niche. When someone is searching for a solution to their problem, you are the person that can help them when they need it most; they’ll remember that and come back to you again and again. There’s a lot less face time than with other videos and they are very step-by-step. You want to cut to the chase with these videos. Instead of talking about it, show them how to do it. People who buy drills don’t want the drill they want a hole. Don’t sell them the drill, teach them to make the hole.

2. Lead Capture Page Videos 

Capture pages are a place people go to exchange their name and email for something they want. If you have a video on that page it will convert better. Videos are the next best thing to talking to someone in person. This video needs to be short, somewhere around 30 – 40 seconds. Touch on their pain. Tell them you have the solution on the other side of the page and what the benefits to them are. Be specific and tell them to fill out the capture form and press the button to get their solution. Don’t use please. They have the problem, you have the solution, they’re coming to you.

Put this on your blog, fan page, on your website. Introduce yourself to the prospect. Just open your arms and say hello, and tell them who you are. Tell them what you have that is useful to them. You can use this video to generate leads and to welcome your prospect. You don’t have to stand above the rest you just have to stand out from the rest. Open yourself up and it will build trust. You don’t want this video to be more than a minute and a half. There’s no reason to have really long videos and in our day and age where people are bombarded with information you want it to be short.

4. A lifestyle branding video

This video incorporates your life and your business. What you’re saying is “Yes I’m in business but I’m also a human being.” This video builds huge trust with your prospects. There’s a slim time slot right now to get your branding videos done and set yourself apart from everyone else. This video is a much longer video than the others. It shows the things you like, how you want to brand yourself, your life. This is a work in progress.

Everything is planning in a video like this. You have to know what you’re going to say, how you want it to look, and what you want it to portray.
Now that you know the four necessary videos here’s a few critical mistakes people make that will sink you faster than never doing videos at all.

1. Poor audio – This is a HUGE mistake. People will put up with poor video but they won’t put up with poor audio. Audio is the most important part of your video. You can get an AZDEN wireless microphone kit for $150 and it works very well. Make sure when you’re filming you have a camera with an external microphone jack.

2. No purpose – If you’re doing a video you need to know who, what, and why. Who – the person you’re speaking to. What – What is the problem and how are you going to solve it. Why – Why are you the best person to solve that problem? Define your niche. You must figure this out before you can go forward.

3. Not optimizing your videos for lead generation and monetization – Why are you doing videos if you aren’t generating these things? Your videos have to be strategically placed because if they’re seen outside of your funnel they may not make sense. Lead your prospect where you want them to go next and allow them to get to know you and your product or service.

Ask yourself 2 questions:

o Do people make money in network marketing? When you’re going out into the marketplace you have to have a belief in the system. You can’t believe and doubt at the same time.
o Do people make the money that I want in my life in network marketing? Why would you bother doing something if it’s not going to take you where you want to go? If you’re on a path and it’s not taking you where you want to go you need to get off that path and get on one that will take you there.
After you get the yeses to these questions you can go out into the marketplace and represent network marketing and no one can knock you down.
2. Focus on one thing – If you want to be in the top ten of your company, only do one thing. You aren’t going to achieve freedom by dillydallying around with different deals. If people are making money in your company and you aren’t it’s not the company’s fault. You get to blame you for either your success or your failure.

3. Pick up the pace– How many people are you talking to? It will take sacrifice. If you love to talk put a timer on for five minutes. If the timer goes off and you’re still on the phone with a prospect get off. Listen to the clues people give you. You don’t need to stay on the phone with people you know aren’t the right prospects. It is just wasting your time.
4. Hire yourself – Go to a mirror and look at yourself and ask the question “Would I hire me?” based on how you’ve been showing up and who you’ve been showing up as. Write that down every day.

Reality check:

Draw a box on a piece of paper. In that box write down how many new people you’ve talked to about your business in the last 24 hours. This really puts it in perspective when you write it down. What did you write down? Was it 5, 10, or zero? This is a business of being personally accountable. Double digits a day keep the commission checks on their way. Talk to at least 10 people every day. It’s not that hard. It’s a numbers game. Line up 30 prospects a day to get double digit numbers. Get off your butt.

On the scale of difficulty, 1 being laying on the couch and 10 being brain surgery, network marketing is a 2 ½. You get paid to talk to people.

 

5. Learn the skills – Practice the script and make it conversational, and finish what you start. This isn’t boomerang marketing, throwing it out there and hoping it comes back to you. Success comes to those people who go and get it. Get Todd’s “Little Black Book of Scripts” and practice everyday. Refine your telephone skills until every one of Todd’s scripts, every rebuttal, and every close, sounds natural. If you have a problem on the phone, buy some old cheap crappy list off of the internet and make 50 calls, so when you get a good prospect on the phone, you won’t blow it. Always follow up. The money is in the follow-up.
6. Flick the fear – Everybody is scared of something, but if you don’t face that fear it will eat you up and the thing that you fear the most will actually happen. Some of you are frozen. You can’t get yourself to pick up the phone. You will not make money until you make contact with a human being. Here’s what you need to do. Pick up the phone and dial the number. You may stutter, stumble over yourself and perhaps not even say a word, but when you hang up the phone (even if you’re only on it for 30 seconds) check yourself out. Feel your heartbeat, your breath and go “I’m alive.” You aren’t going to die of prospecting.

Then do it again and start linking them together. It will get easier.

Start using your ears. Pay attention to the clues people give you, and even when you hear a no ask the person “Who do you know who is outgoing, who might be interested?” If you don’t ask, you don’t get. Stop focusing on you and start focusing on them. If you become outwardly focused and start being interested rather than interesting, you will attract people into your business and see your dreams become reality.

Every day when you are doing things ask yourself: “Is this going to get me more traffic or converting that traffic into buyers?” If the answer is no or even maybe, skip that activity and go to things that are a definite yes.

All of this really boils down to decisions and your DO or WILL DO mentality. So many people say, “I will do that tomorrow”, and then tomorrow comes and they never get it done. Those people who choose to DO things now are the ones that make the money. Do what others are not willing to do. Decide every night before you go to bed the top 5 things you need to do the next day and write them down. Then do not go to bed the next night until those things are done.

Successful people make decisions. They aren’t always the right decisions but decisions are action and action makes money. Don’t be afraid to make those decisions. Fearing the decision will inhibit your life, your dreams, and your goals.

Say NO to opportunities. This is important; opportunities will come across your desk every day that look great. It is so easy to get sucked into the next big thing and get sidetracked from your goals. People think they can be super human but if you take every opportunity you can’t be productive. Opportunities will come and go. Keep your eye on the prize or the opportunities will break you. Focus on one thing and make that one thing a success. Do this before even thinking about doing something else. Persistence and consistency will get you where you want to go. Spreading yourself too thin will not get you there any faster. As you go about working your business things will get rough. There will be times you just want to quit and think “What is it all for?” During these times when things get the toughest that you are the closest to reaching your goal. Having the courage and the drive to push through the pain is where you’re going to find the success you are looking for.
