Jay Kubassek grew up on a small farm outside of Toronto, Canada. There were 30 kids in his school and 4 in his class. Life was simple but pure. In his town you lived close to the land and reaped what you sowed. The biggest lesson he learned growing up was you have to control what you can control.

The same holds true in network marketing. Identify what the variables are and control what you can control. As a professional network marketer there are many things you can’t control. To be a networker you have to be committed. You have to know why you’re doing what you’re doing. Commitment means that you make a decision to do something, you create a plan to execute it, you start with the end in mind, and then you don’t give up until you get it.

Every conversation you have with people you are planting a seed. We’re all human, we’re all the same. All we want is validation. We want to feel okay, like someone actually cares. If you’re meeting resistance with prospects it’s probably because you’re trying to sell them. Shut up and listen to them. Ask them how you can help them. The whole secret behind this industry is just being real. If you can do that you don’t need a lot of other skills.

If your mind can conceive it, you can achieve it. It’s a step by step journey. Having the great lifestyle is a byproduct of something that is deeper.

Find a great leader, follow everything they say, and work your butt off.

Building your business is hard and most people won’t do what it takes. We are constantly filling ourselves with information that bogs us down. Bring to the table the commitment and the willingness to sweat it out. Stop looking for the next breakthrough and use what you already know.

Now everyone has the ability to work hard and most people know how to do it. It is that final 1% that makes the difference between good and great. It’s like water. At 211 degrees you have hot water, but at 212 degrees you have boiling water which makes steam, and steam can power cities.

The vehicle you use is irrelevant. Pick something that suits you and go with it. The reason you aren’t seeing results has nothing to do with the vehicle. You have everything you require and you need to stop looking outside of yourself for the answer. You have to be willing to work harder than anyone else.

What separates those who are successful from those who aren’t is simple.

They made a choice and committed to it.

There are three areas that you must have to succeed. We’ll call them X, Y, and Z. When you understand these secrets and start leading with this, things will start to work. Embrace everything. Once you embrace it you own it, and once you own it you can change it.

X – Your Gift:

Every one of us is born with a gift, a talent. We are here for a reason.

That image, that reason, is a rough diamond inside of you just waiting to be carved into something worthwhile. This diamond is your purpose, the reason you exist. You just have to find it.

Then you have to cut that stone and polish it. The raw talent is inside. Once it is cut and polished, the gem that is you will shine eternally; bringing its light and glimmer into everyone you meet.

It’s only once the hard work is done that you have something of value. Make sure that you are cutting and polishing the raw diamond inside you, that which is the best of you, and not a turd. No matter how much you polish a turd, you’ll never get it to shine.

Y – Action:

This is more than just mindless action, it is the way you take action, your integrity, your ability to follow through. This is the skills and the techniques you use.

Aimless action is idiocy.

Make a plan, stick to the plan; don’t let anything get in the way of the plan. You should know with a certainty what you are going to do tomorrow, next week, and next year to accomplish your goals.

Z – Leverage:

Leadership is the most powerful form of leverage. Everyone is looking for a leader to follow. With leadership comes authority. And with authority comes the ability to have people take you seriously and do as you say. Think how much easier it would be to tell someone to go to their computer and fill out the distributor form than to beg them to join your team. With leadership it really is that easy.

Don’t jump the gun. These steps must be taken to achieve success. Many people just want the end result. Without these steps you are doomed to fail. To create true wealth and success that is fulfilling you need the whole package.

Use your gifts and talent for the betterment of mankind. See the big picture; it is not about you signing up one new distributor into your MLM. Once you prepare yourself, people will be asking to follow you, when they know you have their best interest at heart. You have to earn your success in order for it to be sustainable.

You are already 99% there. There’s nothing wrong with you. Anyone who uses fear to make you feel like there’s something wrong with you is probably trying to sell you something.

Instead of trying to manipulate people, inspire them.

Surround yourself with people who empower you and you will find that there is no competition because you are creating something. Your brand will embody certain values and people will feel good about it and will want to work with you.

Figure out who you are, what you want and why you do what you do and DO NOT SETTLE for less.
